NATO announces “Steadfast Defender 2024,” a massive exercise with 90,000 troops across Europe, marking its largest training operation since the Cold War, simulating U.S. reinforcement to European allies amidst rising global tensions.
NATO has warned that the West should step up preparations for the unexpected,including a war with Russia, as Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine is nearing the two-year mark amid worries over possible political fatigue among some of Kyiv's Western allies.

Volcanic Steam Bubbles Oozing Out of Pavement in Portland, Oregon
The steam was spotted rising from a road near Portland’s Rocky Butte.
Rocky Butte is an extinct volcano that hasn't erupted in 97,000 years.
Their sewer crew found the issue came from a private property between a couple apartment complexes which use steam heat.
A resident of one apartment complex told a member of PBOT’s sewer crew that property management has been aware of the issue and it had been going on for six months or longer.

Either way, I'm not so sure I believe this story. Would anyone think they would actually tell us if the Volcano was coming back to life? LOL... Just saying... Why would the steam from a nearby property be coming up from a busted pipe in the road and be so hot that it was burning asphalt?
Asphalt catches fire at about 900 degrees Fahrenheit but boils at around 600 degrees Fahrenheit.
Once vaporized, vapor can reach incredibly high temperatures. The highest steam temperatures are found in boilers and other industrial machinery, where intense energy produces scalding steam. These temperatures range from 400ºF (204ºC) to 1000ºF (538ºC).
I'm not exactly sure how hot a broken pipe would get from a nearby apartment complex but although possible, I find this story unlikely.
This is also happening at a time where there seems to be an uptick in volcanic activity worldwide. So, that's some food for thought too.
In addition, scientists have been talking for years now about how Yellowstone National Park, located in the states of Idaho, Montana, Wyoming is a danger zone. Go figure Oregon is right next to those states where Yellowstone is, and it just so happens this is on a old Volcano. Just saying...

The British Ministry of Defense announced that the "DragonFire" laser-based anti-aircraft system carried out the first successful test of high-powered fire against aerial targets.
"This milestone demonstrates the ability to operate against aerial targets at relevant ranges and this is a significant step in bringing this technology into service," the statement said, noting that the system's operating range is classified. "The Army and the Royal Navy are considering using this technology as part of future air defense capabilities."
The "Dragon Fire" system is being developed with a joint investment of one hundred million pounds by the Ministry of Defense and the defense industries. "A breakthrough weapon of this type has the potential to revolutionize the battlespace by reducing reliance on expensive munitions, while reducing the risk of collateral damage," said Defense Secretary Grant Shapps. "Investments with industry partners in advanced technologies are essential in a highly competitive world, helping us maintain the edge in winning the battle and keeping the nation safe."
