Chemical Attack Averted: Iranian’s Plot Foiled by German Authorities

On Sunday, German officials released information related to the arrest of a 32-year-old Iranian suspected of planning a potentially deadly chemical attack.

The suspect was detained early Sunday morning in Castrop-Rauxel, reported the Associated Press.

“Islamic extremism” was cited as the motivation in the AP report, which added that the suspect has already allegedly acquired multiple toxins, including ricin and cyanide. Evidence of the plot was collected by “specialists wearing anti-contamination suits,” who removed items from the suspect’s home.
