DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- Dayton Police have indicated that a report of an active shooter at Belmont High School appears to have been a hoax.

Dayton Police were on scene at the school Friday morning and searched the building.

Our news crew at Belmont heard over a loudspeaker there that the threat was a prank and was one of many nationwide.

The announcement also indicated that students would be released soon.
