BREAKING NEWS: Daytona Beach police officer injured in shooting

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - A Daytona Beach police officer has been injured in a shooting incident, Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood confirmed to FOX 35 News.

The officer was transported to a hospital but the officer's condition and identity were not immediately released.  Sheriff Chitwood would only describe it as "really bad" and added that a suspect remains at large.

* The police scanner is reporting they have the plate of the suspect vehicle 7TNX532 and are saying it is a 2016 Honda HR-V (California license plate).
