Criminals may have stolen up to $400 BILLION in fraud, while unemployment benefits were pumped out to survive lockdowns in the US! As much as 50% of all unemployment monies may have been stolen, according to Blake Hall of ID.me, and the bulk of these funds may have ended up with foreign crime syndicates in China, Nigeria, Russia, and elsewhere. (Axios)

Before the pandemic, unemployment claims were relatively rare and only lasted short amounts of time, so they weren't viewed as lucrative targets for criminals. But the lockdowns changed all that, and now unemployment fraud is big business.
