قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَصَحبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ:

[ أَلا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بليلةٍ أفضلَ من ليلةِ القدرِ؟ حارِسُ الحَرَسِ في أرضِ خَوْفٍ لعلَّهُ ألّا يرجعَ إلى أهلِهِ. ]

حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاهُ النَسائي.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"Shall I not inform you of a night better than Laylat Al-Qadr? A guard in a land of fear, perhaps not returning to his family."

( وَاعْلَمْ أنَّ فِي الصَّبْرِ عَلَى مَا تَكْرَهُ خَيْرًا كَثِيرًا ، وَأَنَّ النَّصْرَ مَعَ الصَّبْرِ ، وَأَنَّ الْفَرَجَ مَعَ الْكَرْبِ ، وَأَنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا )

حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاهُ أحمد.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"Know that there is much good in being patient with what you detest, victory will come with patience, relief will come with affliction, and with the hardship will come an ease."

عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ:
[ وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُمْ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ ، أَلاَ إِنَّ الْقُوَّةَ الرَّمْيُ أَلاَ إِنَّ الْقُوَّةَ الرَّمْيُ أَلاَ إِنَّ الْقُوَّةَ الرَّمْيُ. ]

Uqabah Ben Amir narrated, I heard the prophet (PBUH) recite when he was on the pulpit

"Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power. Beware, strength is shooting, beware strength is shooting, beware strength is shooting."

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: دَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الأَحْزَابِ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ:

[ اللَّهُمَّ مُنْزِلَ الْكِتَابِ سَرِيعَ الْحِسَابِ ، اللَّهُمَّ اهْزِمِ الأَحْزَابَ ، اللَّهُمَّ اهْزِمْهُمْ وَزَلْزِلْهُمْ. ]

Abdallah Ben Abi Awfa narrated that the prophet (PBUH) invoked a curse on the polytheists at the battle of the Confederates, saying,

"O Allah, who hast sent down the Book and quick- taker of reckoning; O Allah, defeat the Confederates, shake them."

[ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي يَدِهِ لَوْلاَ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَا قَعَدْتُ خَلْفَ سَرِيَّةٍ تَغْزُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنْ لاَ أَجِدُ سَعَةً فَأَحْمِلَهُمْ وَلاَ يَجِدُونَ سَعَةً فَيَتَّبِعُونِي وَلاَ تَطِيبُ أَنْفُسُهُمْ أَنْ يَقْعُدُوا بَعْدِي. ]

رَوَاهُ مُسلِم.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, were it not that it would be too difficult for the Muslims, I would never have stayed behind from any expedition that went out in Allah's cause. But I could not find the resources to give them mounts and they could not find the resources to follow me, nor would they be pleased to stay behind if I went."

[ لاَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يُقَاتِلَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ الْيَهُودَ فَيَقْتُلُهُمُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ ، حَتَّى يَخْتَبِئَ الْيَهُودِيُّ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْحَجَرِ وَالشَّجَرِ فَيَقُولُ الْحَجَرُ أَوِ الشَّجَرُ: يَا مُسْلِمُ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ هَذَا يَهُودِيٌّ خَلْفِي فَتَعَالَ فَاقْتُلْهُ. إِلاَّ الْغَرْقَدَ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ شَجَرِ الْيَهُودِ. ]

رَوَاهُ مُسلِم.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"The Last Hour will not come until the Muslims fight against the Jews, until a Jew will hide himself behind a stone or a tree, and the stone or the tree will say: 'O Muslim, there is a Jew behind me. Come and kill him,' but Al-Gharqad tree will not say so, for it is the tree of the Jews."

Narrated by Muslim.

رَوَاهُ البُخَاريُ

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"O people! Do not wish to meet the enemy, and ask Allah for safety, but when you face the enemy, be patient, and remember that Paradise is under the shades of swords."

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إلى رَسولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ فَقَالَ: دُلَّنِي علَى عَمَلٍ يَعْدِلُ الجِهَادَ.

قَالَ: [ لا أجِدُهُ. ]
قَالَ: [ هلْ تَسْتَطِيعُ إذَا خَرَجَ المُجَاهِدُ أنْ تَدْخُلَ مَسْجِدَكَ فَتَقُومَ ولَا تَفْتُرَ ، وتَصُومَ ولَا تُفْطِرَ؟ ]
قَالَ: ومَن يَسْتَطِيعُ ذلكَ؟!

رَوَاهُ البُخَاريُ

Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, said:
A man came to the prophet (PBUH) and said: guide me to a deed equivalent to jihad,

He (the prophet) said: "I can't find any".
"Can you, when the one going for jihad goes to it, enter your mosque, and pray non stop, and fast continously without break?."
The man said: and who can do that?

عَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عنه قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَمَّرَ أَمِيرًا عَلَى جَيْشٍ أَوْ سَرِيَّةٍ أَوْصَاهُ فِي خَاصَّتِهِ بِتَقْوَى اللَّهِ وَمَنْ مَعَهُ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ خَيْرًا ثُمَّ قَالَ:

[ اغْزُوا بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَاتِلُوا مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللَّهِ اغْزُوا وَلاَ تَغُلُّوا وَلاَ تَغْدِرُوا وَلاَ تَمْثُلُوا وَلاَ تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا.]

رَوَاهُ مُسلِم.
لا تَغُلُّوا = لا تَخُونوا في الغَنِيمَةِ.
ولا تُمثِّلوا = لا تُشوِّهوا القَتلى.

Buraida (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that when the prophet (PBUH) appointed a commander over an army or a detachment he instructed him to fear Allah himself and consider the welfare of the Muslims who were with him. He then said,

"Go forth in Allah's name in Allah's path and fight with those who disbelieve in Allah. Go forth and do not be unfaithful regarding booty, or treacherous, or mutilate the dead, or kill a child."

عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عنه قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ بِنَاقَةٍ مَخْطُومَةٍ فَقَالَ: هَذِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ.
فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:

[ لَكَ بِهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ سَبْعُمِائَةِ نَاقِةٍ كُلُّهَا مَخْطُومَةٌ. ]

رَوَاهُ مُسلِم.
مَخْطُومَةٍ = ذَلُولًا صالحةً للحَمْلِ والرُّكوبِ.

Abu Masoud Al-Ansari (May Allah be pleased with him) said that a man brought a muzzled she-camel and said, “This is to be devoted to Allah's path."
The prophet (PBUH) said to him,

"On the day of resurrection you will get for it seven hundred she-camels all of which will be muzzled."

عن أَبي موسى الأشعرِيِّ رَضي اللَّه عنهُ أَنَّ رسول اللَّهِ صَلّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وسَلَّم كانَ إذا خَافَ قَوماً قال:

[ اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نجعلُكَ في نحورِهِمْ ، ونعُوذُ بِك مِنْ شرُوِرِهمْ. ]

حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاهُ أبو داود

Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that when the prophet (PBUH) had any fear of an enemy, he used to supplicate:

"Oh Allah ! We put You in front of them, and we seek refuge in You from their evils."

"مَا مِنْ امْرِئٍ يَخْذُلُ امْرَأً مُسْلِمًا عِنْدَ مَوْطِنٍ تُنْتَهَكُ فِيهِ حُرْمَتُهُ وَيُنْتَقَصُ فِيهِ مِنْ عِرْضِهِ، إِلَّا خَذَلَهُ اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِي مَوْطِنٍ يُحِبُّ فِيهِ نُصْرَتَهُ."

حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ رَوَاهُ أحمد.

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

"If any of you deserts a Muslim in a situation in which his rights are being violated and his honour is being degraded, Allah the Exalted shall desert him in a situation in which he needs his support."

"مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فِي تَوَادِّهِمْ وَتَرَاحُمِهِمْ وَتَعَاطُفِهِمْ مَثَلُ الْجَسَدِ إِذَا اشْتَكَى مِنْهُ عُضْوٌ تَدَاعَى لَهُ سَائِرُ الْجَسَدِ بِالسَّهَرِ وَالْحُمَّى."

رواه البخاري ومسلم

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

"The believers in their mutual kindness, compassion and sympathy are just like one body. When one limb suffers, the whole body responds to it with wakefulness and fever."

عَنِ البَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ رضي الله عنه قَالَ:

"أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِسَبْعٍ ، أَمَرَنَا بِعِيَادَةِ المَرِيضِ ، وَاتِّبَاعِ الجِنَازَةِ ، وَتَشْمِيتِ العَاطِسِ ، وَإِجَابَةِ الدَّاعِي ، وَإِفْشَاءِ السَّلاَمِ ، وَنَصْرِ المَظْلُومِ ، وَإِبْرَارِ المُقْسِمِ."

رواه البخاري ومسلم.

وَإِبْرَارِ المُقْسِمِ = فعل مَا أَرَادَ الحالف مِنْكَ ما لمْ يكُن اثماً.

Al Bara Bin Azib (May Allah be pleased with him) said:

"The Prophet (PBUH) ordered us to observe seven things. He ordered us to visit the sick, follow the funeral (of a dead believer), invoke the mercy of Allah upon one who sneezes (by saying 'May Allah have mercy on you' when he says 'Praise be to Allah'), accept the invitation, promote the greeting of 'peace be upon you', help the oppressed and fulfill the oath of one who takes an oath (as long as it is not a misdeed)."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ:

"إِنَّ النَّاسَ إِذَا رَأَوا الظَّالِمَ فَلَمْ يَأْخُذُوا عَلَى يَدَيْهِ، أَوْشَكَ أَنْ يَعُمَّهُمُ اللَّه بِعِقَابٍ مِنْهُ."

حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاهُ التِرمِذِي.

يَأْخُذُوا عَلَى يَدَيْهِ أي يمنعوه من ظلمه.

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

"If people see an oppressor and do not stop him (prevent him from doing evil), it is likely that Allah will send a punishment that includes them all."

Narrated by Tirmithi.

عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أّبِي وّقَّاصٍ رَضِيَ الله عَنْهُ قَالَ:

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ : أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَشَدُّ بَلَاءً ؟

قَالَ: { الْأَنْبِيَاءُ ثُمَّ الْأَمْثَلُ فَالْأَمْثَلُ }.

حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاهُ التِرمِذِي.

الْأَمْثَلُ فَالْأَمْثَلُ = الأَفْضَلُ فَالأَفْضَلُ

Saad Bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) said:

"I asked: ‘O Messenger of Allah, which people are most severely tested?’
He said: ‘The Prophets, then the next best and the next best."

Narrated by Al Tirmithi

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَصَحبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
{ فَمَا يَبْرَحُ الْبَلَاءُ بِالْعَبْدِ حَتَّى يَتْرُكَهُ يَمْشِي عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مَا عَلَيْهِ خَطِيئَةٌ. }

حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاهُ التِرمِذِي.

The Prophet (PBUH) said:

"A servant (of Allah) keeps facing affliction until he is left walking on earth without any sins."

Narrated by Tirmizi.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَصَحبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ:

"يُوشِكُ الأُمَمُ أَنْ تَدَاعَى عَلَيكُمْ كَمَا تَدَاعَى الأَكَلَةُ إِلَى قَصْعَتِهَا."
فقال قائل: "ومِن قلَّةٍ نحن يومئذٍ؟"
قال: "بَلْ أَنتُمْ يَومَئِذٍ كَثِيرٌ، وَلَكِنَّكُمْ غُثَاءٌ كَغُثَاءِ السَّيْلِ."

حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاهُ أبو داود.

The Prophet (PBUH) said: "Nations are about to summon one another to attack you just like people invite one another to share their food."

Someone asked: "Will that happen because we will be few at that time?"

He replied: "No, you will be many at that time, but you will be scum like that carried down by a torrent."
