قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَصَحبِهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
[ لِلشَّهِيدِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ سِتُّ خِصَالٍ ، يُغْفَرُ لَهُ فِي أَوَّلِ دَفْعَةٍ مِنْ دَمِهِ ، وَيُرَى مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ ، وَيُجَارُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ ، وَيَأْمَنُ مِنَ الْفَزَعِ الأَكْبَرِ ، وَيُحَلَّى حُلَّةَ الإِيمَانِ ، وَيُزَوَّجُ مِنَ الْحُورِ الْعِينِ ، وَيُشَفَّعُ فِي سَبْعِينَ إِنْسَانًا مِنْ أَقَارِبِهِ. ]

حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاهُ ابن ماجه.

The prophet (PBUH) said,

"The martyr has six things (in store) with Allah: He is forgiven from the first drop of his blood that is shed; he is shown his place in Paradise; he is spared the torment of the grave; he is kept safe from the Great Fright; he is adorned with a garment of faith; he is married to (wives) from among the wide-eyed houris; and he is permitted to intercede for seventy of his relatives."

عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ:
( قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ قُتِلْتُ فَأَيْنَ أَنَا ؟
قَالَ: [ فِي الْجَنَّةِ. ] فَأَلْقَى تَمَرَاتٍ فِي يَدِهِ ، ثُمَّ قَاتَلَ حَتَّى قُتِلَ. )

رَوَاهُ البُخَاريُ.

Jabir the son of Abdullah (May Allah be pleased with them) reported, a man, said to the Prophet (PBUH) during the battle of Uhud:

"Tell me where I shall be if I am killed". When he (PBUH) replied that he would be in Paradise, the man threw away some dates which he had in his hand and fought until he was killed."

عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عنه قال:
قَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ قُتِلْتُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ تُكَفَّرُ عَنِّي خَطَايَايَ ؟
فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:

[ نَعَمْ إِنْ قُتِلْتَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَأَنْتَ صَابِرٌ مُحْتَسِبٌ مُقْبِلٌ غَيْرُ مُدْبِرٍ. ]

رَوَاهُ مُسلِم.

Abu Qatada (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that A man rose and said,

"Tell me, Messenger of Allah, if I am killed in Allah’s path will my sins be covered up?" The prophet said, "Yes, while you are showing endurance, seeking your reward from Allah, facing the enemy, not running away."

"By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, I wish I could fight in Allah's cause and be killed, then fight and be killed, then fight and be killed."

The prophet (PBUH) said,

"No one who enters paradise will want to return to the world and have anything in the earth except the martyr. He will wish to return to the world and be killed ten times because of the honor he sees."

مَسِّ الْقَتْلِ = ألم القتل.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"The martyr does not feel the pain of being killed, except as any one of you feels a pinch. (by a bug)"

[ لَيْسَ شَيْءٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَى اللَّهِ مِنْ قَطْرَتَيْنِ وَأَثَرَيْنِ ، قَطْرَةٌ مِنْ دُمُوعٍ فِي خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ ، وَقَطْرَةُ دَمٍ تُهَرَاقُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَأَمَّا الأَثَرَانِ فَأَثَرٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَأَثَرٌ فِي فَرِيضَةٍ مِنْ فَرَائِضِ اللَّهِ. ]

حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِي

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"There is nothing more beloved to Allah than two drops and two traces: A teardrop shed out of Allah's fear, and a drop of blood shed in Allah's cause. As for the two traces: A trace resulting in Allah's cause, and a trace resulting from one of the duties that Allah made obligatory."

[ طُوبَى لِعَبْدٍ آخِذٍ بِعِنَانِ فَرَسِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، أَشْعَثَ رَأْسُهُ مُغْبَرَّةٍ قَدَمَاهُ ، إِنْ كَانَ فِي الْحِرَاسَةِ كَانَ فِي الْحِرَاسَةِ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ فِي السَّاقَةِ كَانَ فِي السَّاقَةِ ، إِنِ اسْتَأْذَنَ لَمْ يُؤْذَنْ لَهُ ، وَإِنْ شَفَعَ لَمْ يُشَفَّعْ. ]

رَوَاهُ البُخَاريُ
السَّاقَةُ = مُؤخِّرةُ الجَيشِ.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"Paradise is for a servant who holds the reins of his horse to strive in Allah's Cause, with his hair unkempt and feet covered with dust: if he is appointed in the vanguard, he is perfectly satisfied with his post of guarding, and if he is appointed in the rearward, he accepts his post with satisfaction; (he is so simple and unambiguous that) if he asks for permission he is not permitted, and if he intercedes, his intercession is not accepted."

[ أَلا أُنَبِّئُكُمْ بليلةٍ أفضلَ من ليلةِ القدرِ؟ حارِسُ الحَرَسِ في أرضِ خَوْفٍ لعلَّهُ ألّا يرجعَ إلى أهلِهِ. ]

حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاهُ النَسائي.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"Shall I not inform you of a night better than Laylat Al-Qadr? A guard in a land of fear, perhaps not returning to his family."

حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ رَوَاهُ أحمد.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"Know that there is much good in being patient with what you detest, victory will come with patience, relief will come with affliction, and with the hardship will come an ease."

عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنَ عَامِرٍ يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ:
[ وَأَعِدُّوا لَهُمْ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ مِنْ قُوَّةٍ ، أَلاَ إِنَّ الْقُوَّةَ الرَّمْيُ أَلاَ إِنَّ الْقُوَّةَ الرَّمْيُ أَلاَ إِنَّ الْقُوَّةَ الرَّمْيُ. ]

رَوَاهُ مُسلِم

Uqabah Ben Amir narrated, I heard the prophet (PBUH) recite when he was on the pulpit

"Against them make ready your strength to the utmost of your power. Beware, strength is shooting, beware strength is shooting, beware strength is shooting."

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي أَوْفَى رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: دَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الأَحْزَابِ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَالَ:

[ اللَّهُمَّ مُنْزِلَ الْكِتَابِ سَرِيعَ الْحِسَابِ ، اللَّهُمَّ اهْزِمِ الأَحْزَابَ ، اللَّهُمَّ اهْزِمْهُمْ وَزَلْزِلْهُمْ. ]

رَوَاهُ البُخَاريُ

Abdallah Ben Abi Awfa narrated that the prophet (PBUH) invoked a curse on the polytheists at the battle of the Confederates, saying,

"O Allah, who hast sent down the Book and quick- taker of reckoning; O Allah, defeat the Confederates, shake them."

[ وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي يَدِهِ لَوْلاَ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مَا قَعَدْتُ خَلْفَ سَرِيَّةٍ تَغْزُو فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنْ لاَ أَجِدُ سَعَةً فَأَحْمِلَهُمْ وَلاَ يَجِدُونَ سَعَةً فَيَتَّبِعُونِي وَلاَ تَطِيبُ أَنْفُسُهُمْ أَنْ يَقْعُدُوا بَعْدِي. ]

رَوَاهُ مُسلِم.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, were it not that it would be too difficult for the Muslims, I would never have stayed behind from any expedition that went out in Allah's cause. But I could not find the resources to give them mounts and they could not find the resources to follow me, nor would they be pleased to stay behind if I went."

[ لاَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يُقَاتِلَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ الْيَهُودَ فَيَقْتُلُهُمُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ ، حَتَّى يَخْتَبِئَ الْيَهُودِيُّ مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْحَجَرِ وَالشَّجَرِ فَيَقُولُ الْحَجَرُ أَوِ الشَّجَرُ: يَا مُسْلِمُ يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ هَذَا يَهُودِيٌّ خَلْفِي فَتَعَالَ فَاقْتُلْهُ. إِلاَّ الْغَرْقَدَ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْ شَجَرِ الْيَهُودِ. ]

رَوَاهُ مُسلِم.

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"The Last Hour will not come until the Muslims fight against the Jews, until a Jew will hide himself behind a stone or a tree, and the stone or the tree will say: 'O Muslim, there is a Jew behind me. Come and kill him,' but Al-Gharqad tree will not say so, for it is the tree of the Jews."

Narrated by Muslim.

[ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ لاَ تَمَنَّوْا لِقَاءَ الْعَدُوِّ وَسَلُوا اللَّهَ الْعَافِيَةَ ، فَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُوهُمْ فَاصْبِرُوا وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ الْجَنَّةَ تَحْتَ ظِلاَلِ السُّيُوفِ. ]

رَوَاهُ البُخَاريُ

The Prophet (PBUH) said,

"O people! Do not wish to meet the enemy, and ask Allah for safety, but when you face the enemy, be patient, and remember that Paradise is under the shades of swords."

عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إلى رَسولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عليه وسلَّمَ فَقَالَ: دُلَّنِي علَى عَمَلٍ يَعْدِلُ الجِهَادَ.

قَالَ: [ لا أجِدُهُ. ]
قَالَ: [ هلْ تَسْتَطِيعُ إذَا خَرَجَ المُجَاهِدُ أنْ تَدْخُلَ مَسْجِدَكَ فَتَقُومَ ولَا تَفْتُرَ ، وتَصُومَ ولَا تُفْطِرَ؟ ]
قَالَ: ومَن يَسْتَطِيعُ ذلكَ؟!

رَوَاهُ البُخَاريُ

Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, said:
A man came to the prophet (PBUH) and said: guide me to a deed equivalent to jihad,

He (the prophet) said: "I can't find any".
"Can you, when the one going for jihad goes to it, enter your mosque, and pray non stop, and fast continously without break?."
The man said: and who can do that?

عَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عنه قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا أَمَّرَ أَمِيرًا عَلَى جَيْشٍ أَوْ سَرِيَّةٍ أَوْصَاهُ فِي خَاصَّتِهِ بِتَقْوَى اللَّهِ وَمَنْ مَعَهُ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ خَيْرًا ثُمَّ قَالَ:

[ اغْزُوا بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ قَاتِلُوا مَنْ كَفَرَ بِاللَّهِ اغْزُوا وَلاَ تَغُلُّوا وَلاَ تَغْدِرُوا وَلاَ تَمْثُلُوا وَلاَ تَقْتُلُوا وَلِيدًا.]

رَوَاهُ مُسلِم.
لا تَغُلُّوا = لا تَخُونوا في الغَنِيمَةِ.
ولا تُمثِّلوا = لا تُشوِّهوا القَتلى.

Buraida (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that when the prophet (PBUH) appointed a commander over an army or a detachment he instructed him to fear Allah himself and consider the welfare of the Muslims who were with him. He then said,

"Go forth in Allah's name in Allah's path and fight with those who disbelieve in Allah. Go forth and do not be unfaithful regarding booty, or treacherous, or mutilate the dead, or kill a child."

عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللهُ عنه قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ بِنَاقَةٍ مَخْطُومَةٍ فَقَالَ: هَذِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ.
فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:

[ لَكَ بِهَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ سَبْعُمِائَةِ نَاقِةٍ كُلُّهَا مَخْطُومَةٌ. ]

رَوَاهُ مُسلِم.
مَخْطُومَةٍ = ذَلُولًا صالحةً للحَمْلِ والرُّكوبِ.

Abu Masoud Al-Ansari (May Allah be pleased with him) said that a man brought a muzzled she-camel and said, “This is to be devoted to Allah's path."
The prophet (PBUH) said to him,

"On the day of resurrection you will get for it seven hundred she-camels all of which will be muzzled."
