What is NPTEL?
National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) was initiated by seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati and Roorkee) along with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore in 2003.NPTEL is a good opportunity for who is willing to do a course based on their qualification. It is a fully online course. Here Five core disciplines were identified, namely, civil engineering, computer science and engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering and mechanical engineering and 235 courses in web/video format were developed in this phase.
The main goal of NPTEL was to build on the engineering and core science courses launched previously in NPTEL Phase I. An additional 600 web and video courses were created in all major branches of engineering, physical sciences at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and management courses at the postgraduate level. Several improvements such as indexing of all video and web courses and keyword search were implemented.
Yes, it's useful for career growth. β Nowadays some universities are mandatory of NPTEL Exam in their academic regulation. The credits of NPTEl will carry to students in the final score. Some MNCs also accept these credits.β
It is now possible for ANYONE outside the IIT System to be able to do an online certification course from NPTEL and get a certificate from the IITs. IITs are reaching out and taking education to the homes of people through this initiative. The objective of enabling students to obtain certificates for courses is to make students employable in the industry or pursue a suitable higher education programme. Through an online portal, 4,8 and 12 week online courses, typically on topics relevant to students in all years of higher education along with basic core courses in sciences and humanities with exposure to relevant tools and technologies, are being offered. They will conduct an online Exam on course. The score calculation of Exam is 25% of assignment marks and 75% of the final exam score.

COMPUTATIONAL GEOMETRY
Computational geometry is a branch of computer science devoted to the study of algorithms which can be stated in terms of geometry. Some purely geometrical problems arise out of the study of computational geometric algorithms, and such problems are also considered to be part of computational geometry. While modern computational geometry is a recent development, it is one of the oldest fields of computing with history stretching back to antiquity.

Metallurgy is a domain of materials science and engineering that studies the physical and chemical behaviorof metallic elements, their inter-metallic compounds, and their mixtures, which are called alloys.
Metallurgy encompasses both the science and the technology of metals. That is, the way in which science is applied to the production of metals, and the engineering of metal components used in products for both consumers and manufacturers. Metallurgy is distinct from the craft of metalworking.
