Position Summary:
The C5 + O.N.E. (Opening Networks through English) English Language Teacher will be involved in a project that supports English language instruction for young professionals working in the fields of Economy throughout Central Asia. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing American English language instruction and will report to a Lead Teacher, based in Tashkent, who will provide training and mentoring during the program.

From Classroom to Industry: How C5+O.N.E. Field Visits Connect Learning with Practice in Uzbekistan. As part of its supplemental activities, the C5+O.N.E. (Opening Networks through English) Program recently organized a series of field visits for Cohorts 4 and 5 in Uzbekistan, giving participants direct exposure to professional environments and key economic sectors.In Tashkent, Cohort 4 visited ProCab, gaining insight into manufacturing processes, innovation, and industry standards.
In Andijan, Cohort 5 visited D-Tour Travel Agency, where participants learned about tourism, entrepreneurship, and economic development from an experienced industry professional. By engaging directly with professionals and organizations, participants explored how innovation, international partnerships, and practical skills contribute to economic growth and cross-sector cooperation, reinforcing the programโs focus on English for professional and economic participation.

In Urgench, Cohort 4 participants visited Al-Khwarizmi University to learn how higher education contributes to workforce readiness, innovation, and regional development. Discussions highlighted how English proficiency opens access to international research, academic partnerships, and scholarships.

๐ On February 11, the Uzbekistan Business Leaders (UBL) Program brought together 28 alumni from the 2020โ2025 cohorts for a meaningful reunion with representatives of the Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent, including Ambassador Jonathan Henick, as well as staff from American Councilsโ Washington, DC and Uzbekistan offices.
๐ Ambassador Henick delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of continued U.S.โUzbekistan business cooperation, the impact of the UBL Program, and the Embassyโs interest in supporting alumni initiatives. Representatives of the Public Diplomacy Section also highlighted their commitment to staying engaged with alumni and learning more about their ongoing projects.
