On November 20, USG Alumni, including graduates of AWE, FLEX, and ESN, together with students and teachers of the Andijan State Institute of Foreign Languages, organized the workshop “Promote Startup Businesses in Uzbekistan: From Ideas to Impact.” The event gathered young innovators eager to turn their ideas into real entrepreneurial projects.
Participants explored a practical roadmap for launching a startup: identifying community needs, validating ideas through customer interviews, conducting competitor analysis, developing MVPs, and learning about funding and incubation opportunities.
👩💻 The workshop also introduced five practical ways AI can support small business growth, including automated customer service tools, AI-driven marketing, smart CRMs, competitor analysis technologies, and big-data sentiment insights, showing how AI can boost efficiency and decision-making.
⚙️ Through interactive sessions, case studies, and group work, participants strengthened their entrepreneurial mindset and gained confidence to develop impact-driven ventures.

Highlights from the Young Professional Internships Program (YPIP) Accelerator Workshop Series 🚀
As part of the YPIP framework, from November 17 to 25, American Councils held regional entrepreneurship workshops and an Alumni Accelerator program across Uzbekistan.
🌍 Regional Workshop Series
One-day workshops in Urgench, Karshi, Bukhara, and Fergana brought together 70 undergraduate students to explore essential entrepreneurial skills through an interactive, U.S.-style format. The sessions were led by U.S. innovation experts Marty Kaszubowski and Sharon Scannell. Participants learned to identify real problems, build customer personas, apply the NABC model, practice customer discovery, and map ideas onto the Pitch Canvas. Students left with practical tools and a clearer understanding of how to shape their ideas into real solutions.
⭐️ YPIP Alumni Accelerator
On November 22–23, 52 alumni from four cohorts gathered in the Tashkent Region for a two-day advanced accelerator led by Sharon Scannell. Alumni refined their business ideas using the NABC model, Value Thesis, Business Model Canvas, and Pitch Canvas. They strengthened their problem statements, improved customer insights, practiced interviews, and gained confidence pitching their ideas. The program also provided valuable networking and peer collaboration opportunities.
📌 The entrepreneurship accelerator trainings were held within the framework of the Young Professional Internships Program, funded by the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent and implemented by American Councils for International Education.

The Young Professional Internships Program (YPIP) is a U.S. Embassy–funded initiative implemented by American Councils for International Education. The program places motivated, pre-screened undergraduate students in full-time, on-site summer internships with host organizations in Tashkent.
We invite companies, startups, NGOs, and public or private institutions in Tashkent to partner with us and host YPIP interns during the Summer 2026 internship period (June–August).
By hosting an intern through YPIP, organizations:
• gain access to motivated, English-speaking young talent
• receive meaningful support for ongoing projects
• create a pipeline for potential future hires
• offer leadership and mentoring opportunities for rising managers
• contribute to youth workforce development in Uzbekistan

On November 20, Khorezm Alumni hosted a mini-conference titled “GPA Meets GPT: The Evolution of Education in the AI Era” at Urgench State University. The event was organized and led by Regional Alumni Representative for Khorezm, together with Fulbright ETA participant and FEP alumni.
Alumni, faculty, and students from the Khorezm region came together to explore how AI is shaping today’s classrooms. Speakers showed how AI can be a helpful partner in education, offering real examples of tools that support learning, creativity, and accessibility, without replacing critical thinking. The session wrapped up with a conversation on responsible and ethical AI use in preparing students for the future.

🩺 STEM for Safety: Everyday Science in Emergency Situations
On November 22, alumni took part in an interactive master class exploring how STEM knowledge supports effective first aid and emergency response. Through hands-on activities and real-life scenarios, participants gained a better understanding of the science behind emergency preparedness and safe response practices. The session was led by nurse Madina Mamadaliyeva from Jizzakh City Monomarkaz and helped strengthen participants’ confidence in responding to emergency situations within their communities.
📚 Future-Ready English Classrooms: Innovation, Technology, and Skills
On November 28, Jizzakh Alumni, in cooperation with Jizzakh State Pedagogical University, hosted a scientific-practical conference for English language teachers.
