Blockbuster: Sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s first ‘little black book’ to be auctioned

An extraordinary “criminal relic,” the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s original black book, could soon hit the auction block.

Online auction house Alexander Historical Auctions told Secrets today that it has the smaller and original Epstein book that holds the names, addresses, and information of nearly 400 entries.

It was Epstein’s first known book listing his associates, a 64-page predecessor to the larger book of secret listings used to help jail him on charges of sex trafficking minors. He died in a suspicious jail cell hanging in 2019.

Federal prosecutors have charged a former government employee with falsely accusing seven colleagues — many of whom held security clearances and at least some of whom worked in the intelligence community — of participating in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol.

Investigators say Miguel Zapata used “burner” emails to submit anonymous tips to an FBI tipline about seven ex-colleagues, causing the bureau to investigate and interview many of them. Agents pursuing the tips verified that none of the seven were in Washington that day and confirmed they were working during the hours of the attack.

“These tips variously alleged that the government employees and contractors were physically present at or involved in the attack at the Capitol or had shared classified information with individuals and groups present at the riot with the intent to assist these groups in overthrowing the United States government,” according to the charging documents.

BREAKING: The Justice Department is expected to announce the indictment of longtime Rep. Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, on Friday, two sources familiar with the matter told NBC News.

Cuellar’s home and campaign office in Laredo, Texas, were raided in January 2022 as part of a federal investigation into Azerbaijan and a group of U.S. businessmen who have ties to the country, law enforcement said at the time. His office had pledged to cooperate with the investigation. In April, Cuellar's lawyer, Joshua Berman, told some news outlets that federal authorities informed him he was not the target of the investigation.

It wasn't immediately clear if the indictment was related to the 2022 raid. The Justice Department declined to comment. NBC News has reached out to Cuellar and a lawyer representing him for comment.

Cuellar is a one-time co-chair of the Congressional Azerbaijan Caucus.

Donald Trump's authority as commander-in-chief was ignored by senior military leadership on January 6, 2021, claims the chief legal advisor for D.C. National Guard on that day.

Colonel Earl Matthews came forward as a whistleblower to the House subcommittee reviewing the January 6 Select Committee's investigation.

He sat down with DailyMail.com two weeks after the public hearing to explain what he saw happen that day.

He claims that Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff at the time, and then-Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy, were plotting to disobey any orders handed down by Trump because they 'unreasonably' assumed the then-president was going to break the law and try to use the D.C. National Guard (DCNG) to stop certification of the 2020 presidential election results.

A lot has been made about the breakdown in military and administration communication when it came to the timeline of deploying DCNG to the Capitol.

But Matthews claims senior military leadership was solely focused on getting the heat off of them and putting it back onto Trump.

The Select Committee on the January 6 Attack, Matthews claims, was more than happy to lean into this narrative and blame the entire ordeal on the then-president.

But Matthews says that senior military leadership essentially stripped the president of his authority as commander-in-chief by preemptively planning to go against orders because they didn't like the optics of uniformed soldiers at the Capitol.
