Since 1995, we've witnessed that unity does not continue through flattery, mutual back-scratching, & so called non-interference in each other's Dawah initiatives, rather there has to be Sidq, transparency, refraining from self-entitlement & not claiming what one has not done.
Imam Al-Bukhaari [may Allah have mercy upon him] said:

باب فِي تَرْكِ الْحِيَلِ وَأَنَّ لِكُلِّ امْرِئٍ مَا نَوَى فِي الأَيْمَانِ وَغَيْرِهَ

Chapter: Avoiding the use of tricks. And everybody will get the reward according to his intention in Imaan (belief) and other than it.

Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab [may Allah be pleased with him] said that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] said, "The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions, and every person will get the reward according to what he intended. So, whoever emigrates for Allaah and His Messenger, then his emigration will be for Allaah and His Messenger, and whoever emigrates to take a worldly benefit or for a woman to marry, then his emigration will be for what he emigrated for". [1]

Imam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, "There is no place for trickery in Ibaadaat nor in Mu’aamalaat. Therefore, it is obligatory to approach affairs through their appropriate paths [carrying out deeds without tricks or ulterior motives]. [2]

Imam Sufyan Ath-Thawree [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: "I have never witnessed a lesser abstinence in anything similar to the desire for leadership! You may observe a man refraining from food, drink, riches, and clothing, but once the leadership arises, he eagerly pursues it".

Siyar A'lam An-Nubula 7/262
Since 1995, we have met two categories of individuals:

The First Group: Individuals who have consistently upheld integrity, provided valuable advice, stood firmly against Ahlul Bidah, promoted unity, avoided causes of disunity, and earned the trust of the people through their unwavering commitment by the Tawfeeq of Allah. This is Salafipublications and others known to us.

The Second Group: Individuals who gradually revealed ambitions for leadership, prioritised self-importance, and later claimed to be champions of unity. Over the years, it has become evident that almost everyone who seeks leadership undermines themselves immediately by downplaying important issues while professing to support unity. This is because the pursuit of leadership itself is one of the greatest causes of disunity, and trivialising important matters during this pursuit is a strategy to divert attention from one's wrongdoings.
"Regardless what level you reach in knowledge, remember (what is) left behind by the predecessors for the successors".

Imam Muhammad Ibn Salih Al-Uthaymeen Al-Uthaymeen said: This is good (i.e. a good statement), but we say what is better than that is (the statement): Regardless what level you reach in knowledge, remember the statement of Allah [The Mighty and Majestic:

 وَفَوْقَ كُلِّ ذِي عِلْمٍ عَلِيمٌ

But over all those endowed with knowledge is the All-Knowing [Allah]. [Surah Yusuf’ Ayah 76]

And remember the other Ayah:

وَمَا أُوتِيتُم مِّنَ الْعِلْمِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا

And of knowledge, you [mankind] have been given only a little. [Surah Al-Israa’ Ayah 85]

Sharh "Hilyati Taalibil Ilm" page 168
It's not only enough that the teacher is proficient:

Imam Muhammad Ibn Salih Al-Uthaymeen [may Allah have mercy upon him] said:

We add another characteristic to proficiency, namely trustworthiness. This is because proficiency is a strength that must be accompanied by trustworthiness.

Verily, the best of men for you to hire is the strong, the trustworthy. [Ayah 26. Al-Qasas]

It maybe that a scholar is proficient and vast in knowledge, capable of categorising and establishing a ruling for something in connection and relationship with another matter etc.. but he is not trustworthy and could lead you astray from where you do not perceive.

An Excerpt from "Sharh Hilyati Taalibil ilm". page 79
Umar [may Allah be pleased with him] reported that he heard the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] saying, "Do not exaggerate in praising me as the Christians praised the son of Mary, for indeed, I am only a slave, therefore, (refer to me as) the slave of Allah and His Messenger". [Al-Bukhari 3445]

Imām al-Shanqīṭī on Instituting Secular Laws

THERE USED TO BE among the Takfīrī Khārijites who believed that regulatory laws such as customs at borders, traffic codes and what is similar through which security and protection of benefcial interests are attained, that they are unlawful and that legislating or instituting them is disbelief and they would deliberately violate these laws. These were the ignorant followers of Abū Muḥammad al-Maqdisī (Isām al-Barqāwī) and their likes.

In this statement below, Shaykh al-Shanqīṭī (رحمه الله) explains the two types of law that can be legislated, that which is simply idārī (administrative, regulatory) and that which is sharʿiyy (legislative) which pertains to actual law.

The Chancers no longer decide when we should reply to them!

In the past, during our early twenties and mid-thirties, individuals who sought to create conflict greatly took advantage of our impatience. They knew exactly how to provoke us into confrontation by using specific tactics and words. Shaikh Abu Khadeejah [may Allah preserve him] once advised us in 2004, saying, "Do not engage with every person who attacks, as they will consume all of your time." Nowadays, we giggle when observing chancers, troublemakers, and clever fools trying to provoke reactions. Nevertheless, they do not understand that their old-fashioned tactics are no longer effective. Our response now comes after thorough deliberation and discussion with those who are well-acquainted with the games of the chancers.

AI (Artificial Intelligence) Software Changes Realities: A New Age Of Fabrication Has Arrived: Look how the voice of Imām Ibn Bāz was manipulated!

Qais narrated: I heard Sa'd saying, "I was the first amongst the Arabs who shot an arrow for Allah's Cause. We used to fight along with the Prophet, while we had nothing to eat except the leaves of trees so that one's excrete would look like the excrete balls of camel or a sheep, containing nothing to mix them together. Today Banu Asad tribe blame me for not having understood Islam. I would be a loser if my deeds were in vain."

Those people complained about Sa'd to Umar, claiming that he did not offer his prayers perfectly.
